1. Data controller and contact

The controller of your data is Alejandro Manuel Vera, who operates this site under the trade name Taxis en Iguazú (Puerto Iguazú, Misiones, Argentina).

For any question about this policy or your data, write to us at taxiseniguazu@gmail.com.

2. What data we handle

We handle only the following data:

  • Your request details. The site does not ask for personal data to send a request. The request text is added to the WhatsApp message that opens on your device; that text is not sent to our servers.
  • Transfer request data. The destination you chose on the site and, if you asked about a vehicle or a group, that option (standard vehicle with capacity for up to 4, large vehicle with capacity for up to 6, or a group of 7 or more). The selected capacity does not state how many people are travelling. We also record in our assignment history the assigned driver, the date and time of the request, the button you tapped and its location, that button’s destination, the page you tapped it on and the site language; that history contains no passenger data or message text.
  • Minimal technical information to prevent abuse. When you send the request, our server receives the IP address you are connecting from and the result of the Cloudflare Turnstile check. The IP address is not stored in clear text: we only keep a fingerprint (a hash made with a private key) used to limit repeated requests.
  • Data shared through WhatsApp. When you send the message, the driver sees your phone number and everything you write (for example date, time, accommodation or flight number). That conversation takes place on WhatsApp, between you and the driver; Taxis en Iguazú does not receive or keep a copy.
  • Driver data. We store the name, WhatsApp number, vehicle capacity and availability of each independent driver so that we can route your request. The assigned driver’s number is used to open the WhatsApp chat.
  • Measurement data (only if you accept). If you accept measurement, Google Analytics receives technical data about your visit and an event when you go on to WhatsApp, without your name or the content of the message (see section 6).

Without your consent, the site uses no analytics or advertising tools and does not set its own cookies. With your consent it uses Google Analytics to measure how the site is used (see section 6). Cloudflare Turnstile may use browser technologies to perform its check (see section 5).

3. What we use the data for

  • Making it easy to contact a driver: assigning an independent driver in turn and opening the WhatsApp chat with a pre-filled message.
  • Preventing abuse: checking that the request is not automated and limiting repeated requests.
  • Operating and improving the site: sharing requests fairly among drivers, reviewing the assignment history and fixing faults.
  • Measuring how the site is used (only with your consent): knowing which pages are visited and how many requests reach WhatsApp, in order to improve the site.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

4. Third parties involved

The following third parties are involved in making the site work. Each one handles data under its own policies:

  • The assigned independent driver. Receives what you write on WhatsApp and uses it to reply to you and arrange the transfer. They are an independent professional, not an employee of Taxis en Iguazú.
  • WhatsApp (Meta). The button opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. Sending the message and the conversation are governed by WhatsApp’s terms and privacy policy.
  • Supabase. Provider of the database and of the server function that assigns the driver. It stores driver data, the assignment history and the IP fingerprints described above, and receives your IP address, the vehicle or group option and the button and page details when you send the request.
  • Hostinger. Hosting provider where the site is published. Like any web server, it may record technical connection data (for example IP address and browser) when it serves you the pages.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile. Service that checks for automated activity (see section 5).
  • Google Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts: when you open the pages, your browser connects to Google’s servers and your IP address reaches them.
  • Google Analytics (Google). Site measurement service. It is only loaded if you accept measurement (see section 6).

Some of these providers may process data on servers located outside Argentina.

5. Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated or abusive activity, for example programs that request driver contacts in bulk.

The Turnstile script is only downloaded when you start a request. The check is usually invisible and, if needed, asks you for a simple confirmation. To run the check, Cloudflare receives technical data from your browser and your IP address, and our server validates the result with Cloudflare before assigning you a driver. If your browser or a content blocker prevents the check, you will not be able to send the request from the site.

Cloudflare’s processing is governed by its own privacy policy.

6. Google Analytics and site measurement

If you accept measurement, we use Google Analytics 4, a Google service, to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited and how many people go on to WhatsApp. It is statistical measurement: we do not use it to identify you or for advertising.

Only after you accept does your browser download the Google Analytics tag, and Google may use cookies or similar technologies. Google receives technical data about your visit (for example your IP address, browser and device), the pages you visit, and an event called "whatsapp_contact" that is recorded when the site takes you to WhatsApp, together with the site language, the button you tapped and its location, that button’s destination and, if you asked about a vehicle or a group, that option (standard vehicle with capacity for up to 4, large vehicle with capacity for up to 6, or a group of 7 or more). The selected capacity does not state how many people are travelling. We do not send your name, the driver’s number, the text of the WhatsApp message or the WhatsApp address.

If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and no measurement data is sent. Your choice is saved in your browser (local storage) so we do not ask again until you change it.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the “Privacy and measurement settings” link at the bottom of every page. If you decline, we stop measuring and delete any Google Analytics cookies from this site that are in your browser. Data already sent to Google is governed by Google’s retention periods and privacy policy.

Google may process this data on servers located outside Argentina.

7. How long we keep the data

  • Recovering requests: the tab temporarily stores a random identifier and the context of a pending request to recover it without asking for another driver. The server retains a technical receipt with the response, removed once it is over a day old during daily cleanup. The identifier stays with the history to prevent duplicates. This functional mechanism is not sent to Analytics.
  • Assignment history (assigned driver, requested option if known, request identifier, button, destination, page, language, date and time): 12 months. It is then deleted automatically.
  • IP fingerprint used to limit requests: deleted automatically once it is more than 1 day old; the cleanup runs once a day.
  • Driver data: deleted when the driver is removed. Their name stays in the assignment history until the 12 months are up.
  • Emails you send us: kept for as long as needed to handle your question or request.
  • WhatsApp messages and data held by third parties (the driver, WhatsApp, Hostinger, Cloudflare, Google): governed by each party’s own retention periods, which we do not control.

8. Your rights

You can ask us for access to, rectification, updating or deletion of your data by writing to taxiseniguazu@gmail.com. We will reply by the same means.

Because we do not store your name or phone number in our systems, we may not hold any data about you to provide or correct; we will still confirm this to you. For what you shared with a driver on WhatsApp, you must also contact that driver.

If you believe your rights have not been honored, you can file a complaint with Argentina’s Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), the supervisory authority under Law 25.326 on Personal Data Protection.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is the one published on this page, with its last-updated date.
